About Rick:

Rick was born and raised in Livingston, Mt.  He played basketball and tennis and was on the 1983 State Champion basketball team. Rick attended Montana State University, playing one season of JV Basketball for the Bobcats. 

 

He began his basketball coaching career in Livingston, coaching both Boys’ and Girls’ basketball, then moved to Bozeman HS to do the same.  In 1995, Rick and his family moved to the Boise area, where he was the Asst. Varsity Boys Coach at Caldwell HS.  In 1997, the Jordan’s moved back to Bozeman, and in 1998, Rick received his first Head Coaching assignment, coaching the Varsity Lady Hawks program.  The Lady Hawks won back to back State Titles during Rick’s five-year tenure and placed several athletes into collegiate basketball careers, including eight DI players.

 

In 2003 the family moved back to Boise, where Rick headed the Girls’ Basketball program at Meridian HS for three years.  Rick ended his basketball coaching days in 2006, but continued to coach Track and finished his coaching career in 2014, after 5 years as the Head Golf Coach at Meridian High. Rick also held teacher leadership positions at Meridian, leading the Smaller Learning Communities Jr. House.  Rick was awarded the Idaho High School Health Teacher of the Year in 2011.

 

Currently, Rick is a Vice Principal at Skyview High in Nampa, Id.  He is also a Principal Mentor for the current Cohort in the Educational Leadership Masters program at Boise State University.  Rick has been married for 26 years to his wife Christy, who is the Director of Capital Planning for Boise State University and they have one daughter, Hayley who is a junior at the University of Idaho.
