About Pete:

Pete Isakson returned to the University of Idaho and athletics when he was hired as the Vandals' Associate Athletic Director (External).

"I am very excited to come back to the University of Idaho," Isakson said. "It is a very special place and an honor to be back home. I look forward to re-uniting, meeting and engaging with our University of Idaho faculty and staff, students, boosters, alumni, fans, and the Moscow community."

Isakson returns to the University of Idaho after 14 years at Washington State – the most recent of which were as the Director of University Initiatives for the WSU Foundation. His background, however, is athletics. His athletics career began at the University of Idaho when he was the assistant director for marketing and sales (1995-96). He spent the next two years in the Midwest before returning to Moscow as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development, Marketing and Promotions – a post he held for five years before accepting an Associate Athletic Director position at Washington State.

"We are thrilled to have Pete back in the Vandal Family," Spear said. "Along with a wealth of experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, he is a valuable member of our community."

Isakson earned his bachelor's degree at Eastern Washington University (1995) before adding his master's degree from the University of Idaho in 2003.

He is very involved in the local community as a member of the Elks Lodge and is a past board member of the St. Mary's School Board and the Circle of Caring Adult Day Health Board. He also is a volunteer for Special Olympics and coaches youth basketball, baseball and football.

Pete and his wife, Kelly, have three children - Cody (13), Connor (10) and Kendall (7). Kelly is a physical therapist and co-owner of Moscow Mountain Sport and Physical Therapy. The Isaksons reside in Moscow.
