Team USA Coaching Education and Development
Christine will overview what the USOC does to support Team USA coaches and how the USOC values continuing education for all coaches from development to elite programs across the United States.

About Christine:
Christine Bolger recently celebrated her tenth anniversary with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee in the Coaching Education Department. In her role, she manages the flagship program for the USOPC – the National Team Coach Leadership Education Program, which is the first-of-its-kind elite educational experience for Team USA coaches. She sources information that will help improve coaching performance and infuses research-based information into practical learning experiences for coaches.
She is currently leading the Coaching Principles Working Group, establishing the first document that will outline what Team USA coaches should know and do, leading to better evaluation of coach skills and improved performance. Christine manages the USOPC’s Olympic & Paralympic Coach e-magazine which is a practical resource for coaches.
Prior to serving in her current position, Christine spent 11 years with the National Association for Sport & Physical Education (NASPE) where her primary responsibilities included establishment and oversight of the first coach accreditation process and review of the first coaching education programs in the US, coordination of the revision committee for the second edition of the National Standards for Sport Coaches, and coordination of projects for sport councils in the areas of athletic administration, coaching, sport management, athletic training and youth sport, including the National Coaching Conference.
She has been fortunate to serve Team USA at three Olympic Games and coach soccer and swimming at the youth and high school levels. Christine is a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Sport Management.
