About Coach Barbarick:

Brad Barbarick is the head men's basketball coach at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. The 2018-19 season marks his 25th season leading the Cavaliers men's basketball program. During the first 20 years at CU, Barbarick served in a dual role as both a professor and head coach. The long time educator taught a variety of classes in both the Exercise/Sport Science and Health/Physical Education departments. 

 

The veteran coach established CU men's basketball as one of the perennial top programs in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and the NAIA. In 2015 Concordia University transitioned from the NAIA to NCAA Division II and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). In just their second season in NCAA Division II, Barbarick led the Cavs to the 2016-17 GNAC post season tournament. 

 

Barbarick  is a well known teacher of the game and has worked camps and clinics along side some of the most well regarded coaches in basketball. Barbarick was a coach and assistant director for 10 years at the John Wooden Basketball Camps, and has directed Camps for NBA Head Coaches George Karl and Don Nelson.  In addition, Barbarick is the founder of Rip City Hoop Camp and Big on the Block Camp, two long time basketball camps in the Portland area. The CU head coach has also been a featured presenter/clinician at the USA Youth Basketball Coaching Clinics.

 

Barbarick has four children,  twin daughters Emily and Megan (23), and sons Zachary (19) and Landon (1), he and his wife Tawny live in Vancouver, WA.
